For Permanent makeup treatment a local anesthetic from over the counter or prescribed by your doctor can be used before and during the procedure. The treatment is definitely reasonable and only mild discomfort is felt.

Attention should be paid to the quality of the work and, of course, the professional’s experience. In addition, particular attention should be paid to the cleanliness of the treatment room and the use of sterile equipment and tools. In the United States, some states require the establishment and the professional to be licensed by an agency and to also have a Bloodborne Pathogen certification.

NOTE: We advise for you to inform your doctor that you are doing this procedure in case you are under his care for diabetes, heart diseases, and conditions that you may have a seizure, herpes, or any conditions that may be triggered to have a side effect due to your condition or medications in use.

Before the procedure:

• No alcohol for 3 days before the procedure

• No aspirin or blood thinners 24 hours before the procedure. For your regular medications consult your doctor.

• Allow enough time to have your procedure without rushing your professional. (Minimum of 2 hours)

After the procedure:

• Showering is possible 24 hours after treatment, with the precaution to not rub or let any shampoo, soap or any other products to go through the area for 72 hours.

• Exposure to the sun is prohibited.

• Do not bathe in the ocean or pool for at least 10 days.

• No exercising or vigorous lifting for 24-48 hours

• Keep your head straight up and slightly higher for the first night of sleep (no face down on pillow).

• No alcohol after the procedure for 3 days.

• Do not use a Jacuzzi.

• Entrance into a sauna is completely prohibited.

• Do not rub, scratch or peel the treatment areas.

• Apply the after care products at your professional’s instructions (minimum) of twice a day for ten days.

• Apply compresses to the treatment area to alleviate any swelling.

• If desired and by your doctor’s instructions aspirin or Tylenol is suggested for reduction of swelling or any discomfort after the treatment.

• Discuss the after care instructions with your professional before leaving the office.
